PINK PANTHER Wool/Tencel Sock Yarn Set: Kettle Dyed, Tie Dye Gradient
In the Pink. Literally.
This was another one of my experiments in dyeing. I took 4 skeins of wool & Tencel yarn and plopped two of them into a pot of red dye. I didn't move them or try to ensure that the dye covered every strand equally. After 30 minutes, I added the remaining two skeins and this is what resulted. I call it tie dye gradient.
Kettle Dyeing means each skein is unique; no two skeins are exactly alike. The yarn is made from recycled wool and Tencel (50/50). Tencel is a type of rayon made from plant cellulose. It wicks moisture better than cotton or hemp and is softer too.
Since Tencel is a plant based fiber, it does not take up the dye as strongly as the sheep wool does; this gives a heathered effect to the yarn and also a sheen similar to silk. Each skein is 383 yards/100 gms, so you receive 1532 yards of yarn in fabulous hues of pink from hot pink to blush. Think of all the pink socks you can make with this! It would also be great for a child's sweater, doll clothing, scarves....
We recommend hand washing and air drying anything you make with this yarn.
*Listed price is for 4 hanks of yarn.
