CLAN MACLEOD Baby Alpaca Sportweight Yarn- Hand Painted

Soft as a cloud baby alpaca yarn, created first by kettle dyeing the yarn bright yellow and then adding sections of black, resulting in a blend of black, green and yellow. Clan MacLeod is ready for you to make something truly yummy with it!

The real Scottish clan, MacLeod actually has a tartan with these colors. We dragons like the Scottish Highlands! Each skein is 291 yards per 3.5oz. This a sport weight yarn.

Hand painting means each skein is unique; no two skeins are exactly alike.

We recommend hand washing and air drying anything you make with this yarn. I can tell you that this is one of the softest yarns I have ever worked with; it works up beautifully, lays flat and has wonderful drape. Knit on a size 5 needle yields 5 stitches and 7 rows per inch. Crochet hook F (using HDC) is 3 stitches and 2.5 rows per inch.

*Bonus geek trivia: One of Wooly's favorite movies is The Highlander and, although Duncan MacLeod did not wear a tartan with these colors, he would have looked fabulous with a sweater made with this yarn. Maybe in the remake?
