A quick note about specialty fabrics, success depends on testing...test your needle, your thread and stitch lengths.  Sometimes serging is  preferable; sometimes using regular stitching with a walking foot and/or paper under the foot will take the stress of stitching & move the fabric without bunching.  Success in sewing, like most things, depends on pre-planning & testing.
